Josie Maran Argan Cleansing Oil Review

Hello everyone!

Kicking off my first comeback with a beauty review and this time it is the Josie Maran Argan Cleansing Oil. It is priced at 32$ for 180ml.

img_2165

I picked this up in Sephora at Downtown Disney District in Anaheim about two weeks ago and have fallen madly in love with it ever since.

This is actually the first time i use oil as my cleanser and when I first tried it and was happy with the outcome, I asked myself why didnt I start sooner?

Ok since I was traveling at the time, I suddenly remembered that this oil could spill in my bag! But fret not you guys, the pump has open and closed system AND you dont have to pump out the oil to get the pump to close just like the Clinique’s cleanser I’ve been using! AMAZING! That alone got 2 stars from me!

The bottle doesn’t say what the ingredients are but I suppose I can google it and put it here for all of us.

From Sephora website:

Ingredients:

6 oz/ 180 mL

-Organic Argan Oil: Repairs and replenishes skin cells.
-Grape Seed Oil: Aids in improving elasticity to the skin.Β
-Grapefruit Oil: Energizes and awakens the skin.

Hellanthus Annus (Sunflower) Seed oil, Polysorbate-80, Polysorbate-20, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Arganla Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil, Citrus Grandis (Pomelo Grapefruit) Seed Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Tocopherol (Antioxident), Sucralose.

Instruction on the bottle says:

“Rub 3 to 4 pumps into dry hands and apply evenly over dry face. Wet face and massage into a rich milk. Rinse thoroughly with water.”

Personally, 3 to 4 pumps is way too much for me. On days that I dont wear full make up (just eyeliner and Coloupop liquid lipstick), 1.5 pumps is enough for me and on days I wear full make up (mascara, foundation, concealer and the works), i use about 2 to 3 pumps. This is when you use your own judgement to use the product. And yes, this cleansing oil is really good at removing make up!

I love the simplicity of this product. Did you know that this cleansing oil cleans my face so good that I have been skipping toner and that alone saved 2 products. Toner and cotton pads!

I have tried to clean my face with toner after washing my face with the cleansing oil and guess what? I only had very little of dirt left. The fact that I save more money and time for skipping toner is just brilliant. 2 more stars for that! πŸ˜€

Since we have been racking up 4 stars, I’m going to give it one more star for being gentle on the skin. I have very sensitive skin and this never hurts my face. I dont feel any tightness after washing my face with this. ❀

5 stars you guys! Head on to Sephora and get yourself some and if I haven’t been convincing enough, get a sample and try it for yourself. I am going to leave a link to it here so you can check it out.

Thanks for reading guys! Have an awesome week!

How long has it been?

Oh good Lord.

I know I haven’t been on here for a while now coz I couldn’t remember my password. I had to get my password reset few minutes ago and here we are!

I hope everyone is doing great. I’m sorry I have been a horrible writer. 😦 I would love to update you with stuff from where I’ve left off but today might not be the best day to do it coz I am down with flu. Boo.

I guess this is my note saying that I am still alive and kicking BUT I’d also like to say that I will be back! I will try my very best to post at least once a week. Since this post will be up today, my next post shall be next week? Hehe.

I’m going to try and catch up with all the blogs that I’ve been following and hopefully get inspired to write again! Apologies again for being MIA.

Take care guys and have a great week.

Queen Mary Seaport

Salam and hello everybody,

Sorry it’s a bit late but I’m sharing our Long Beach trip with you. Hope this doesn’t bore you to death. Teehee.

We started our journey to LA on Tuesday. We planned to leave at 10am but what the heck right? We actually left at 1pm. LOL.

Since both A and I have never been to Long Beach, we decided to head over there and go see the Queen Mary ship. It was warm that day in Bakersfield so we had our shorts on when we left. Little did we know Long Beach was coooooldddd!

We didn’t get any tour tickets but we bought us some food vouchers. To get on the Queen Mary, you’d have to purchase tickets and since we arrived late, we just decided to have tea. They do not advertise food vouchers so you’ll have to ask the cashier about them. It’s 15$ each but you can use it against your bill. So that’s a win! πŸ˜€

There are a bunch of other things to do here aside from doing the ship tour. I think they have a skating rink out here too. Parking was 18$ flat rate, so you better enjoy yourself here and take your time!

Food was delicious and we had such a great time. πŸ™‚

Thank you, A, for taking me here.

Much love.

Did You Miss Me?

Salam and hello all!

I’m back. πŸ™‚

Sorry I’ve been MIA for weeks. I have been traveling to see the family on the holidays and went to see my friends in Fort Wayne! A had some work to be done back at his old factory and we were invited to the factory’s 30th Anniversary.

I forgot how cold the Midwest was in the autumn! Brr. We were there for 10 days. A got sick after 4 days and I got the bug the last 3 days we were there. Boo.

I was so confident I wouldn’t get the bug but it got to me! 😦

I’ll blog properly next week, I promise. Until then, have a great weekend and stay warm.

Much love.

Adele 25

OMG! Have you guys listened to the album yet? It’s fantastic! Several of my favorites are Hello, Million Years Ago, Remedy and All I Ask! But all her Β other songs on that album are great!

You see, I dont usually the type of person that buys songs or albums (especially albums) but I took the risk to buy Adele’s 25 and prayed hard I’d like the album. Haha! Thank God I love it!!

Some people would be asking themselves “Why so serious? It’s a freaking album. It doesnt cost more than 15 bucks bla bla bla.”

That’s just me.

I am very calculative when it comes to me spending for myself. I dont have problems spending money on other people tho.

HAHA.

I’m serious.

Coz I know when I spend money on other people, no matter how small i.e: lunch), they’d be happy! I love making people happy! However, before spending money on something for me, I ALWAYS have to question myself, “Will I be happy with this thing?” “What if it’s not good?”.

Gah.

I’ve always been so hard on myself, trust me.

So anyways, if you havent got the album yourself, go get it and lets be in mellow mood and think about all our life decisions.

And oh, if you are terrible like me too, listen to her previous album and let Adele herself decide for you. πŸ˜€ That’s what I did. I listened to her 21 album and I was so surprised I was enjoying myself again listening to her last album. On repeat 3 times ok. :/

Trust me, after too much of rock songs, Adele’s songs are extremely relaxing.

Much love.

Getting There!

Hello all! Happy Friday! πŸ™‚

How are we on this chilly day? Bakersfield is surprisingly cold! But I have been told that this would be the coldest it could get. And guess what? No snow! Thank God! Oh, I am also thankful that the sun is always out shining. So that’s good.

As you all know, we had 4 weeks before we move to California so we had to cancel our gym memberships. Two weeks in FW without gym then another 2 weeks of traveling and staying in a hotel with no gym too and bad bad food choices = weight gain!

After we signed on our lease, we went ahead and get our gym membership. It was unfortunately quite far from our hotel and A had really busy week so we didnt get to go as regularly as we wished.

We only started going after we moved in and it took awhile to get back to fitness. I am happy to report I am back to being healthy again and started to tone my body.

We freaking love our new gym coz it’s big, clean and new! Everyone has been nice and I like the fact that our gym has a hot tub, sauna, steam room and a VIP lounge where you can tan and have hydro massage.

I am not following any programs at the moment because we’d be doing some traveling soon and I’d hate to miss on my workouts. Ha! So anyways, I have been approached by a trainer last Monday night and he offered to give me a free session. I opted for shadow boxing (he does that too so yay!). I never had a proper shadow boxing training before. Nothing like that so I’m very excited to go this Saturday! I am also freaking out a little bit coz I know I would look like an idiot doing it. Ahh. The cons of being clumsy. 😦

So anyways guys, I’m going to leave now. I hope everyone enjoys their weekend! What are your plans for the weekend?

Much love.

Our New Home

Hi all!

I’m running out of ideas to write, but I have made it my mission to write every week. I am on a roll here, so let’s not break that chain. πŸ™‚

Before moving here to Bakersfield, A and I went a month ahead for the interview and home searching. We looked at different places and this place that we are currently living in, we didn’t get to see it because all the apartments were fully occupied. So we only get to see pictures on the website.

We took that chance and boy, thank God we did coz we love this place! It’s quite and very clean. Most importantly, it has gas range! All my life, I have been cooking with gas range and when we were in Fort Wayne, I struggled a lot to cook due to the range being electric. I’m telling you, the taste of the food cooked on gas range is 150% nicer! πŸ™‚

This new place is definitely bigger than our previous one and since that is the case (and also being in California), the rent is about double from what we paid on our last one.

Okay, no more talking. Let’s see some pictures of our new home!

Dining area.

Dining area.

Finally we get to use our dining table! When we were in FW, we usually eat in front of the TV (so not good!). Here we get to sit and spend some time together reflecting our days at dinner time. πŸ™‚ I love having a proper sit down meal with my family.

Kitchen area. This is where I spend most of my time at.

Kitchen area. This is where I spend most of my time at.

A gets his coffee counter here, which makes him a very happy man! I set up his Verismo machine on that counter, along with his coffee bean grinder. The cabinet above it stores his cups, tea and coffee inventory.

Master bathroom.

Master bathroom.

Since our new bathroom is quite big, I let A share the bathroom with me this time! We had a separate bathroom back in FW and it was actually kind of hard for me to keep up with the cleaning. I mean I cleaned mine every week and he only cleaned his when he has time. πŸ™‚ So now that we share a bathroom together, I only had to clean one bathroom. I still have to clean the other bathroom too but it’s more like scooping the boy’s litter box. πŸ™‚

Master bedroom with the boys taking over our bed

Living room

Living room

The single Ikea chair belongs to A / Clinton. They both love that chair while Kitty and I love the chase section of the couch. Funny our cats share our favorite things. Kitty is good tho. He let me share the couch with him but Clinton is very territorial with that Ikea chair. He’d annoy A until he give that chair up. AHA!

Vanity area.

Vanity area.

Double vanity area! It’s a first for us. It’s one of the reason why I let A share the bathroom with me. There’s no way I’d be using this double vanity are all by myself. I mean, I could but that would’t be nice, would it? πŸ™‚

The office

The office

It’s a two bedroom and 2 bathroom apartment. As usual, we turned the second bedroom into our home office where we get some paperworks (for me) and work(for A) done. I put my ironing board in here too but I dont see myself ironing clothes in here. Last week I dragged it to the living room so I could watch some telly while I get my ironing done. πŸ™‚

What do you think of our new home? I love our new home and i think one of the reasons why we are happy here is because we love our home. We have all the space for everything and we also have a garage! LOL. We didnt have one before so when we saw this on the website, we were sold!!

Thanks for reading everyone and I’ll catch you on the next post. Take care and be safe, aight!

Much love.

Fantastic Weekend

Hello!

How are we doing today? It’s Monday, huh. Always the busiest day for me but thank God, I had some time to do some cleaning yesterday while A worked. πŸ™‚ I usually deep clean my kitchen, bathrooms and laundry on Mondays. Sundays are usually reserved for washing the linen and towels so I dont get too busy during the week. Since we both go to the gym almost everyday, I usually have tons of laundry to do. Sad, to be honest coz it’s just two of us here. LOL.

Our weekend started on Friday afternoon, actually coz A reserved the afternoon off with his staff to celebrate their budget work (I think). So we went to the Firehouse here in Bakersfield and man, it was really hard to find that place. BUT, while we were looking for that place, we stumbled upon an Asian Market! Yay! We already went twice this weekend HAHA.

We played pool that afternoon and I was surprisingly good that day. I actually got 4 balls in (yes, I’m bragging about those four!) and I hit all the balls that I aimed to hit. I sucked so much at pool sometimes I dont get to hit the ball I aimed for. :p Oh, the people on A’s team are amazing! I got to speak to five of them and I quite enjoyed myself. I love great people! After Firehouse, A and I went ahead to watch my boyfriend afterwards. (Daniel Craig. *Ehem* ) Spectre was fantastic. Always loved the cars and the suits. Haha! Since it has been a lazy day, might as well go ahead with it so we stopped by Sushi Time to pick up dinner. πŸ™‚

Yum.

Yum.

I drove to the gym on Saturday evening with A by my side. And I drove on my own yesterday morning! Woop woop!

I kind of feel safer driving here in Bakersfield compared to driving in Fort Wayne. I guess because it’s rare seeing Californians driving with the cellphones on their hands. Fort Wayne on the other hand, out of 10 cars, 7 would be on the cellphones. It’s so scary to me.

Kitty got his ears cleaned and hair brushed. And both boys got their nails clipped. Kitty is more relaxed now, I’m loving it. He follows me everywhere I go all week and he started to eat his treats again. πŸ™‚ Here are some pictures of the boys from last week.

Fair warning tho, these boys are so cute!!!

Why Is It Addictive?

Hello everyone!

Finally it’s Friday! Yay! It’s been a long week for me. I know some people would be, “Hey, you stay at home. Everyday is the same with you. You can relax anytime you want. You dont have to get up early, drive, be stuck in the jam, face your boss, bla bla bla”

NOPE. It is not the same.

This week particularly has been exhausting. I unpacked and cleared the home office for A yesterday, which makes him very happy coz now his shoes are in place, his shirts are ironed, his books are all sitting nicely on the shelf.

When A had to stay home for a day (or two) two years ago due to bad snow days, he was bored to death. He was anxious coz we couldn’t get out and just being in the apartment was just too much for him on weekdays. He said to me “How do you do this? How do you stay at home and still dont lose your sanity?”

It was really awkward and lonesome for me when I first arrived here to be with him. When I was in Malaysia, I was working and still living with my parents and three brothers. My grandma lived with my aunt and cousins just 5 minutes away, my family from the village regularly came over and spent the night at our home. My home in Malaysia was never quiet.

I told A straight up.

“I cried when you were gone.”

He hugged me then offered to let me work when all my paperworks are done. We talked about it again after my paperworks are done and he told me that he’d prefer me to stay at home instead of work. Such a sweetheart. He said he loves coming home to me, at any time of the day. He loves not having schedule clash when he wants to travels and do something. So I stayed home for his sake. And of course, for the love I have for him. πŸ™‚

Okay enough with the sappy story.

What I was gonna write today is about Louis Vuitton!

Why are the bags so beautiful?

Why are they so addictive?!

I’ve seen people carry LVs around before, I liked them and then I moved on.

This addiction started last May and it still hasnt gone away.

My first high end purchase was my Prada for my birthday last year. I still love it but man, it’s hard to carry it because of the leather. It will definitely be ruined if I carry it on rainy days and since we lived in Fort Wayne, Indiana before, the weather was just unpredictable.

On days I wished to carry my Prada, I had to look up the weather to make sure it wont rain or snow that day. So I have made a mental note not to buy a sensitive leather bag on my next purchase.

With my first Louis Vuitton purchase, let’s just say I had the opportunity to own it. It was pre loved from a consignment store in town and since it would be my first Louis Vuitton bag, I would not mind buying it preloved. Clearly I learned my lessons from my Prada bag not being practical. :/

My first Louis Vuitton purchase is the Popincourt Haut bag. And that’s when my love for LV started. It’s so easy to carry and not have to worry so much about the bag. Well of course I would have to care for the vachetta leather trimming and all but at least I dont have to worry about the WHOLE bag, like my Prada.

Ever since that, I have been following the consignment store’s Instagram account like a hawk. I found several more pieces from the same consignment store and happily scooped those babies out from their inventory. πŸ™‚

And right now, as I’m writing this, I am praying that my package arrives today before I leave for an afternoon out with A’s team downtown. Yes, that package contains another Louis Vuitton piece to be added to my collection. πŸ™‚ My birthday is coming up guys! And since we’d be traveling on my birthday, A prefers to just buy it for me now. It is also my Christmas present, so yeah! It’s justified. πŸ™‚

I dont know if I should put pictures of my babies on this post. I’m just too lazy to move my fat ass around to get them and snap pictures of them. But if I dont do that, my blog post would be so empty. I like seeing pictures on blog posts.

Okay here goes. I decided to get up and take snap shots for you guys. πŸ™‚

There you go guys. Those are my high end purchases. Take note that A bought me the Prada for my 27th birthday and the Popincourt Haut for a dare. LOL. (He wouldnt think I’d do it but I freaking did! In your face, A!!) The three other pieces are all on my own dime. And please take note that all my Louis Vuitton purchases were bought from a consignment store in Fort Wayne and as you can see most of the items are still in great condition when I bought them. So it is my duty to take good care of them too. πŸ™‚

I think consignment stores are great to score high end pieces without breaking the bank. I am still waiting for my package to arrive so I would have to do that piece on the next post.

Guess which pattern I’m getting next? πŸ™‚

Much love and have a great weekend.

Moving Story Part 4

Good morning,

As promised, I am going to continue with our Moving Story series and behold, this post is going to be the last one. YAY!!!

Sorry I had to break them into different parts, coz if I were to dump them into one post, it’s going to be super long. πŸ™‚ But thank God, this would be the last one. πŸ™‚

Okays, since I was not happy with the room in Flagstaff, AZ we headed out pretty early. I think we were all set and ready to go by 8 am. LOL. And since we arrived the night before, it was all dark. Look at the first thing I saw when I stepped out of the hotel?

This gorgeous and glorious tree!

This gorgeous and glorious tree!

I had to take a picture with it. :)

I had to take a picture with it. πŸ™‚

It was chilly that morning. Brr. But since I always love to have (Ehem! Force) A to do things with me, this picture now exists. πŸ™‚

It's going to be such a shame if we didnt take this picture. :)

It’s going to be such a shame if we didnt take this picture. πŸ™‚

A is camera shy, FYI. Especially in public. He takes that after his dad, I suppose. It’s really hard to get his dad to be in pictures.

Ok, back to the our story. We drove from Flagstaff to Bakersfield and of course the weather gets warmer towards Bakersfield. I wish I had my T shirt in the back seat so I could easily grab it and change at the gas station. :/

Before leaving Arizona, we stopped to take some pictures. Here are some of the pictures we took.

FullSizeRender 13 FullSizeRender 16 IMG_5350 IMG_5378

The wind was blowing hard that afternoon. My teeth are so sensitive, hence me covering my mouth in most pictures. πŸ˜€

After half an hour of leaving this place, we entered California! Phew! If I could tap dance in the car, I would! That’s how happy I was when I saw the sign. LOL.

So anyways, the cats did great too on the last journey. But I can tell they were tired of it. I dont blame them. I was ready to stop. A was ready to just stop too. :/ It was one of the longest journey I’ve ever had. I mean, we drove straight from New Orleans, LA to Fort Wayne, IN and at that time I thought that was long. :/ Also, I traveled from Singapore – Chicago earlier this year and I thought that was long. Yikes. Driving cross country is VERY tiring. So glad we dont have to do it anymore. Probably for the next 3 years. Insya Allah.

That’s it guys! That is the end of our moving story. We left Fort Wayne, IN on Monday Oct 26th, 2015 and arrived Bakersfield, CA on Friday Oct 30th.

It’s been a great journey, albeit tiring, with my little family. We are settling nicely here and A and I both think that the drive was worth it coz the weather is nice here. πŸ™‚ To end this moving story series, here are pictures of the fur babies on our last day of terribly long drives. πŸ™‚
